# Beartaria Chat

Beartaria Chat (beartaria.chat) is a Matrix homeserver built for the Beartaria community. It serves as a backup communication hub — same crew, different infrastructure — for when centralized platforms become unavailable. Accounts are created by messaging `@BeartariaChatBot` on Telegram; your Matrix address takes the form `@yourname:beartaria.chat`. The recommended client is Element (desktop, mobile, or web).

The server uses the Matrix protocol's end-to-end encryption (Olm/Megolm), supports voice and video calls via WebRTC, and stores message history locally so it is unaffected by outages on other servers.
